Screening, Crushing, Conveying, Shredding, Grinding & Recycling Equipment
Tyalta Industries is a business that takes great pride in their journey. What was once one man with an idea, has now become quite the multi-dimensional organization offering sales and rentals of aggregate equipment, heavy hauling transportation and equipment parts and service. The saying, “Don’t look back – we aren’t going that way,” just doesn’t apply to this business. Founder Craig Kergen reflects back on his humble beginnings often with great awareness of self-regard and fulfilment. The building located at 613 McCool Street here, in Crossfield, certainly speaks to their 24 years in business and accomplishments.
It all started back in 1995, when Craig Kergen met an equipment manufacturer in Peterborough Ontario by the name of Pascal McCloskey. This meeting resulted in a deal that would forever change Kergen’s life.
Tyalta Industries is a family business through and through. The name, itself, speaks to family. “TY” is Craig’s son’s name, short for Tyler, “AL” is from his daughter’s name, Alexandra, and “TA” for the last two letters of Alberta.
In those early years, Tyalta functioned as a one-man operation with Craig doing everything from sales to service and screen changes. Sheryl, Craig’s wife, worked from the home office keeping books in order, and his kids also jumped in to lend a hand when needed.
The business has morphed from a one-man, family-supported small business, to what we see today. Now a multi-dimensional organization, Tyalta offers: Tyalta Transport; Tyalta Finance; and the newest division, Tyalta Fabrication. Tyalta industries now has 25 employees, has 4 bays and 14 500 sq. ft. of shop and office space.
Tyalta Industries also is an exclusive dealer for McCloskey International in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and North West Territories. A “handshake deal” from 1995 has lead to Tyalta being the longest selling McCloskey dealer in the world.
Tyalta is a business leader, with a solid track record for providing innovative solutions to the aggregate equipment industry. Problem solving, customer service and top quality machinery is the secret to their success.
“We are quick, flexible and creative in how we conduct our business. We use our professional experience and deep roots in the aggregate equipment industry to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers. All of our operating divisions –Tyalta Industries, Tyalta Transport and Tyalta Fabrication– have a track record of delivering on our promises.”
